DuPont State Forest

Two day rock armor training in DuPont State Forest. The lesson consisted of 2 techniques – Stone Pitching and a variation of Appalachian Armoring. The emphasis was on accommodating horses on a heavy use MTB trail. We worked on proper techniques that would keep horses from sliding on the rock we installed. It was important to also place rocks to avoid them from being pushed into the feet of the horses. With a super enthusiastic and passionate group we were able to armor to very troublesome spots in just 2 days!
